The songs we sing in worship can be some of the most inspirational parts of the service. Music in worship is often more powerful than using words alone. A variety of musical instruments can enhance our worship. PCT (Presbyterian Church in Taiwan) has many rich resources from our culture including hymns/songs, instruments, choir, and vocal groups. These resources help create a worshipful context.

There are many hymns/songs from the PCT Hymnal 2009 which includes rich lyrics and diverse music for the church. In this thesis, there are eight songs used as examples:No. 292 “ Santo, Santo, Santo,” No.193 “Sing them over again to me,” No. 307 “When the spirit of the Lord,” No. 481 “Somos uno en Cristo,” No. 593 “When upon life’s billows you are tempest tossed,” No. 15 “All things bright and beautiful,” No. 322 “I was a wandering sheep,” No. 308 “With singing, come praise the Lord.”

These hymn arrangements help church musical leaders improve their creativity, and prepare them to use different instruments, vocal parts, and worship styles, bringing together new models for creative worship.
